Slowly Coming Together

Everything seems to have suddenly halted with the house this last week with me starting taking daycare kids, but I have a few minor updates. We decided to spruce up the house a bit with a few new things such as chair covers for the velvet chairs in the sitting room, an upgraded toaster, and a new coffee pot with a thermos.

This weekend, we worked really hard scraping the dirt that’s washed over the sidewalks and allowing them to be overtaken by grass. We even planted some flowers that will hopefully come up in the fall, if not next spring.

Monday started off this week slow. I should’ve cleaned up, been updating pictures and getting more posted here, but instead I took a day off for my birthday. Therefore, today I will be cleaning up the house and putting away all the laundry and extra boxes in the upstairs, and hopefully the master and getting some updated pictures up. Kiannah’s room (the purple room) is still pretty boxed up, but we haven’t found a desk that we like very much, so as soon as we find one we like I will unbox in there and update.

Meanwhile, Justin redid the countertop and sink in the bathroom SOOOOO here we go!

Let’s start with walking into the bathroom.

Walking in.
This gorgeous piece here, Kyla made for us for our wedding. We contemplated putting it in the sitting room, but ultimately decided to put it in the bathroom opposite the medicine cabinet so you can use it to see your hair in the back, and also hang towels on it instead of super heavy coats.

THANK YOU, KYLA!

Peeking out from the shower, here’s the view of the toilet area.
The linen closet and vanity were a three piece set, with a bigger linen closet on the left side (for reference this one is 12 inches wide and the other is 18”.) With the bathroom set up the way it is, we decided to cut the 18” linen closet and we will eventually use that in the basement.

Our countertop, faucet, medicine cabinet, light fixtures, toilet, flooring, trim, window curtain, shower caddy, shower caddy extender, and over the door towel rack are all available at Menards. The  shower curtains and the blue rugs on the floor are from Walmart.

Eventually.. (yes again) we will have a double outlet in the wall here, we have the wire ran down into the basement but have to hook it to a breaker in the box and install the outlets themselves.

There is still so much work to be done, and I will be sure to keep you all updated, but as for now, this is goodbye.

Do you like the blue accents?
What color would you have accented with if not the blue?
